Monuments Museums and ER's
We are back from our family vacation/Richard's marathon and still trying to recover. Laundry coming out the ears and so forth. Two days before we left, the kids came down with some cold/ick thing. Are we the only ones that happens to? It was really good to see Richard's family on our stop to DC. Unfortunately, they were left in the wake of germs and they got sick too.The trees up north were beautiful and it was nice to have a little autumn. Daddy went with us and I think he had a good time too. It's always a fine line between loving the grandkids and having enough of them for a while. We were happy to have him along just for the visit, but his help turned out to be invaluable. R said yesterday on the way home that he didn't know if we would've made it there and back without him.So, where was I? Oh yeah, sick kids, long car rides. Another benefit to having Daddy along was that he drove his motorhome so the kids and I had the luxury of having a kitchen, a bathroom and all the comforts of home for the ride. Most helpfully, Faith could do her breathing treatments and vest on the road so we saved that time on the trip. After we infected the family in SC we drove up to Colonial Williamsburg. It was a really cool place, but a bit anticlimatic if you weren't a true early American history buff.(my husband) The kids did pick up some knowledge and thought it was cool to be "back in Felicity's time" They actually remembered some things from there that they were able to put together with the trip to the Smithsonian American History Museum. The worse thing about Williamsburg really had nothing to do with Williamsburg. It was the night trip to the ER. (Although I have to say that it was the nicest and quickest ER I've ever been to) GG was just getting worse as the trip progressed and her fever was spiking way high. Tuesday night she was just staring into space and not answering my questions so we took her in. That Dr. said her cold turned into a left ear infection and that the Amoxicillin the pediatritian put her on was not working (no duh) So we got a Zpack from there and went onto Washington the next day. I will continue this a little later. Right now there seems to be some crisis involving the "slaying of the Minotaur" in Faith's room...
