This past weekend was the second annual Disney Marathon weekend for the Dunlap family. The kids did not run the Mickey Mile on Friday, as it was not only a record cold weekend, but it rained on Friday. So, Saturday, we drove over in a "wintery mix", went to the DWWof sports complex to pick up Richard's packet, check into the hotel, have dinner at downtown Disney etc.The kids were too excited to go to sleep. The older ones tried their best, but GG was out of control and since they were all sharing a bed, it made for a long night of ugliness and empty threats. R got up at 330AM to get to the starting line and run the Marathon. The kids woke up earlier than normal (it was worse than Christmas) and by the time R was finished with the race they were dressed, had eaten breakfast and F was almost done with her meds and therapy. After a quick shower it was off to the park. You can see in the pictures how I dressed them for the cold. It was an adorable stroke of genius, if I do say so myself:)Even all the DW employees were ooing and ahhing all over them.......and I figure they've seen it all. Other park vistors asked to take pictures of them (and WITH them) R said this must be what it's like to be Tom Cruise....I told him it was like what it would feel like if TC was your SON. Let's get the hiarchy of popularity straight here, mister. We got "fast passed" in the Pooh ride because, and I quote, "WTP should not have to stand in line in his own ride" Again, we didn't leave the Magic Kingdom, but still didn't get to everything. Maybe we will be done with the MK by the time they are all tall enough to ride the rides at the other parks. For souveniers this year, Will got the pirate Mickey ears, Grace, the Minnie headband and Faith chose a Cinderella watch. For those of you who know me and a certain psych term paper I did in college, well, you can imagine how horrified I was. Snow White is actually her favorite "ballerina" but there was no SW watch. So, in addition to happily (ever after?) buying the watch, I was holding her during the fireworks. I'm not sure if I was just hormonal or hadn't had enough sleep, but seeing the look on her face with the reflection of the fworks in her eyes and thinking of the fun they all 3 had that day, I completely sold out and got misty wishing upon a star. So, even though it was our second time to go, mentally, 2010 will henceforth be known as the year I sold out to "the Magic".Enjoy the pictures!
