Wrapping up the week

Well, it's official, everyone in the Dunlap family is now in the possesion of fully intact eardrums! G's appt. went well last week. The ENT said her ears were healed and that she could swim starting this weekend. It was a little chilly, but of course she just HAD to get in, just because she could. We went to the zoo on Friday (already posted) Saturday was Tball, Soccer, the Suntree fallfest where they got to rides ponies and pet a pig! We once again, attended the Saturday evening service at church which left today with glorious NOTHING.
The only reason I even got out of my PJ's today was because we took the kids running. Faith hasn't gone in quite a while and Will and Gracie needed to work up to a mile for the Mickey Mile in Jan. There is a run here the day before F's bday called the Jingle Bell run. It's a 2 mile run that is run with everyone wearing jingle bells on their shoes. R told F about it today and she is all fired up to do it. We tried to tell her that she needed to get training if she was going to do 2 miles in December. She, recently having entered a particularly sassy phase, spouted off that she didn't need to train; that she could go out and run 2 miles this afternoon. So, her Daddy told her they would go out and see. He also told her that he was not going to let her walk any of it, which she agreed to. So, we all set out together, W G and I all ran around the neighborhood for about a 1/2 mile and circled back around to the house. R and F left us there to finish their 2.
A little while later they came back with F yelling that she had just completed her first 2 mile run without stopping once! I looked at R, who just shook his head. I asked him if he was shaking his head because she was lying or because he couldn't believe she had really done it. He said, "No, she really did it."
Later, when we were alone he said, "So, you really didn't seem all that surprised that F made the whole 2 miles without stopping." To which I had to answer. "Well, I know my girl, and I knew she'd do it or die trying, and since you came in the front door and didn't call from the emergency room...."
