Our first Official Field Trip - KSC

Today was the beginning of Brevard Co. appreciation weekend at the Kennedy Space Center. All residents get in free. Of course we went today to avoid the pig flu crowds tomorrow and Sunday.
Also, the kids all have soccer games in the AM. Gracie is pretty fired up about her first big game, but I digress.
The kids all had a blast and were actually very well behaved. I was proud of them all. It was a VERY long day for everyone.

This first picture is one of the old lunar landers. There were actually people getting to and from the moon in that piece of tin foil.

Below that is the old Saturn 5. It went up right before I turned one.

One of the launch pads from a viewing platform.

3D glasses for the IMAX movie. Gracie was so funny. She kept putting them on, reaching out to touch things and taking them back off trying to figure out why she wasn't able to grab it. She did that through at least the first half of the movie.

These are some pictures taken at the Memorial Gardens. Three pictures down is the actual capsule the first 3 went up in. They laid on their backs, but in a sitting position. The two below are the kids sitting in the mock-up. The first, they are sitting as the astronauts did.
