Stellar Saturday

Today was a good one for our family. First of all, my parents have been here since Wednesday which means I have not cooked a meal since:) Yaaay, Mom!
We all went to the the National Seashore that the kids and I went to the first week. A day at the beach is always a good one.....hence the expression, I guess. The waves were much bigger today than the day the kids and I went alone. We felt very "Yes Dear" in the parking lot and hauling it all down to the beach. There were cool surfer dudes and dudetts all over. Here we are with the three kids, grandparents, many bags of towels, water, etc. the blanket, the beach toys, and even a portable potty! You have all seen the pictures of how the babies are dressed for the beach. My Dad likes to tease me that it looks like they are allergic to the sun. Some woman I didn't know in LP walked by them in the pool one day and said "Wow, no chance of skin cancer in that family." I replied, "Not on my watch, at least!"
Aside from our complete lack of coolness and old age, we still had a lot of fun wave jumping and sand castle (the kids called it a church) building.
Came back, BBQ, pool and evening wrap up. Mom and Dad leave in the AM. (BOO) The kids (and us too) have really enjoyed having them here. Will actually had the most to show off since they'd seen them last. I think that is the first time, and he has been super proud to show it all off. Faith has been a bit more of a drama queen than normal, but that's actually the norm for when grandparents visit. Not enough sleep, permissive grandmother, you know the drill. The two big kids even had a sleepover the first night they were here complete with popcorn and a movie. Of course G was invited, but was not quite ready to leave Mommy and Daddy overnight. We will all hate to see them go, but will be together again at the end of this week. We are doing W's birthday a week from today in PC. It will be a little early, but R is going to be in Texas on the actual day. It won't, however, be as early as last year when we "made" him three 2 months early because he thought he should be three before he had to use the "Big Boy Potty" Poor little guy, the birthday before that had to be either early or late because my dad had a triple bypass on the actual day. His first birthday is the only one that has been on his actual birthday!
So, that was our day, getting late, more later.
