Palm Sunday

Happy beginning of Holy week! We began the day with church and ran some errands afterwards. R is considering laying hardwood himself in the kid's wing and our room. I am really happy about the prospect of having it done, but am not sure how he's going to do this and work too. We should make friends with this project taking a while:) I'm not sure how I ended up even searching this, but I found a gas range on Craigslist that I am in love with. Me! In love with a range....actually, as soon as I saw it, I thought "Oh, R will LOVE this!" http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/hsh/1092828651.html
R called the guy today and apparently the reason this 8000.00 dollar range is available at this low price is due to a home forclosure. They must have been some of the people who's homes we looked at when shopping for a home that were forclosures and gutted as much as possible by the former owners. Of course the main problem with this range is the extended size. We will have to cut out counter and cabinet space. Then, the rest of our appliances are white, and will have to be changed to stainless. This will force the cabinet upgrade, too, then the countertops will need to be granite..... You can see where this is going, can't you? It will be "the range that the whole kitchen is designed around". We wanted to make all these changes when we bought the house anyway, so this is not completely out of left field, but all home improvements were put on hold until our house in Atlanta sells...........and yes, it hasn't sold! So, we may just get it and set it in the garage for a while. Replacing the carpet is the priority right now. Although I don't like an electric stove, I can live with the one I have more than I can live with the carpet.

We went to the beach yesterday afternoon. What a relaxing afternoon...but only because I had the beach bag packed ahead of time. I have decided to just keep the bag packed except for the cold water the same way I used to keep the kid's backpacks packed in Atlanta so that we could leave at a moments notice if need be. Also, I finally got around to finding the library this afternoon and getting a card. The children are so funny about new library books.......it's like Christmas around here. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they love books so much and that something free can make them so happy. It's just funny to me.
