We were at Mom and Dad's for the past two weeks. No blogging..no time. Here is a picture that was taken on their livingroom couch. While we were there we went to the kids favorite park in the whole world.....Under the Oaks. Where not just one, but TWO coughing kids decided to latch onto mine. I know I made the mom of the first mad, but what the heck? We went during the afternoon on a school day hoping to miss that sort of thing. My theory: The only reason he was there was because he was too sick to go to school that day! The other big event for them while there was getting to ride in the motorhome to the AFB for some errands. Mom is doing well, considering. She was in a lot of pain when we first got there, but once the radiation kicked in it seemed to lessen. She has an appt. at MD Anderson in Houston on friday. Pray for her.
Today was spent just trying to get into the swing of things. While we were gone W's first spelling book came in the mail, so he was anxious to get started on that first thing this morning. Well, our "first thing in the morning" at least. He did a really good job and it was nice to see him so excited about it. Coincidently, he was up to his next HOP book, so he had a pretty huge day. We did our first science experiment today. She worked up to it while we were there, but one of them involves keeping a running temp. chart, so we waited until we got home so that we didn't have weather from two different places messing it up. History was done up to a craft activity, so that waited until we came home too. So, F did a little spelling, then the rest of her day was just the fun stuff. R taught them how to play kickball in the cul de sac yesterday so we did a little of that too. I cut G's hair last night. It's in a short little bob like last spring and is so cute! Her hair get so ratty as it gets longer. She really looks better with it short. Shoes (MIL) comes on Wednesday and we can hardly wait! We haven't gotten to see her since the end of last summer. She hasn't ever gone this long without seeing the children. I hope she recognizes them! Anyway, she is staying almost two whole weeks. Maybe R and I could actually get away one night and go to dinner or something. Coming home to the carpet in this house has given me a renewed sense of urgency to replace it. It is so disgusting! As you can tell, my thoughts are a bit scattered tonight. I think I'll end this now and put us all out of our misery:)
