Will's Big Day

Today was a steller day in the life of Will. When he woke up, I told him about his birthday...when, where, etc... I heard him talking to R a little later about the subject and they were discussing what big boy things he might do now that he was almost 4. My wonderful husband had the forethought to mention reading.....yayyyyyyyy Daddy!
Later I approached him about trying to tackle Hooked on Phonics again. He has been showing interest in spelling and does so when I sound out the words for him.
We brushed up on the letter sounds, then went onto the "at" words. After he mastered those two pages he read his first HOPhonics story! Yes, it was only made up of fat, cat, sat, rat, hat, pat, etc, but it was such a big accomplishment for him. I have known for a while that he could do it, but that boy can be lazy. He is king of the "if you won't read it to me, Faith will" attitude.
We found out today that my parents, are, in fact coming on Wednesday. We will all be happy to see them.
We bought booster seats (3 for the big kids) for R's new car. G will move into F's 5point in R's car, F will have a booster in each car, and Will will have one booster and one 5point. They are all growing so fast!
R leaves for work again, tomorrow. The kids and I will probably keep it low key. Grandparents will be here day after tomorrow, afterall.

You amaze me, Yummy Mummy!

P.S. You will be missed on the 17th! I'm going out with some gals for dinner since Neil will take my boys to NS's men's cook-out. A glass of wine for you from me and Jan, Diane, Wendy...
